Daggerspawn (often also DaggerSpawn ) is a technical death metal band from Belgrade , Serbia , which was founded in 2005.
history
The band was founded in 2005 by Nenad Petrović (electric guitar), Jovan Katić (electric guitar) and Vlada Mladenović (drums). Singer Danilo Trbojević and bassist Srđan Salamunović joined the band a short time later.
Together they played their first appearances, both locally and in more distant cities. The demo Suffering Upon the Throne of Depravity was released in 2006. Together with other bands, they also released various split albums to increase their awareness. As the first Serbian band ever, they recorded a live concert of theirs and released this DVD under the name Wrecking Ferocity on Vampiria Records .
In early 2008, the band entered the Archsound Asylum and recorded the first tracks for their debut album. In late 2008 the band signed a contract with Butchered Records (a sub-label of Sevared Records ) to release their debut album Suffering Upon the Throne of Depravity in 2009. The cover of the album was designed by Jon Zig ( Suffocation , Dying Fetus ). Meanwhile, drummer Vlada Mladenović left the band, the new drummer was Dimitrije Vasić in September 2009. With singer Danilo Trbojević also left another member of the band, whose position is currently held by Marko Živanović.
style
The band is characterized by the high speed of the pieces, the deep growling and the aggressiveness of the pieces. The genre-typical, high technical playing level of the songs is also style-defining.
