Dainik Jagran ( Hindi दैनिक जागरण ) is an Indian daily newspaper in Hindi .

The newspaper is based in Jagran Building 2 , Sarvodya Nagar, Kanpur . The newspaper was first published in 1942 in the city of Jhansi by Puran Chandra Gupta . According to the World Association of Newspapers , Dainik Jagran is currently one of the most widely read daily newspapers in the world, as well as the newspaper with the most readers in India (as of 2016). It is also the highest-circulation newspaper in Hindi (as of 2013). The newspaper is owned by the Indian media company Jagran Prakashan Limited , which is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange of India . The company Jagran Prakashan Limited in 2010 acquired the Indian newspaper Mid Day and 2012 the newspaper Naiduniya .
