Dajue Si

The Dajue Si ( Dajue Temple , Chinese  大觉寺 , Pinyin Dàjué sì  - "Temple of Great Enlightenment, Temple of Awakening") in the Beijing West Mountains in the Haidian district is a temple from the time of the Liao Dynasty (Kitan).

The temple is known for its springs, originally it was called Qingshui Yuan清水 院 - Temple of Clear Water. A ginkgo tree there is said to be a thousand years old, a Yulan magnolia three hundred years old. He served exclusively the imperial family. Most of his Buddha statues are from the Ming Dynasty .

The Dajue Si has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (6-303) since 2006 .
