The Dakota Pass is a low mountain pass in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Queen Elizabeth Range of the Transantarctic Mountains , it runs east of the Peletier Plateau .
Participants in a campaign from 1961 to 1962 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition made the name. It is named after a Dakota R4D aircraft , whose target area included the pass during a reconnaissance flight.
