Dakota was an English pop rock band that was signed to GRL, a subsidiary of the Universal Music Group .
The band name Dakota referred to the New York apartment building where John Lennon lived and died.
history
The band was founded in 2007 by show jumper Ben Talbot , along with Rob John Armitage and Aaron Whelan. From the show jumper Henry Lacey he learned that his show jumper colleague Tom Davison plays bass and then brought him into the band as a reinforcement.
On July 13, 2009, Dakota released her debut single Wild Child , which was played on radio stations in the UK. On BBC Radio 2 , the band performed live on the Claudia Winkleman Arts Show . During this time the band had many live performances, including playing at the Vibes From The Vines Festival and the European Show Jumping and Dressage Championships.
In 2010 the band played at the British Open Show Jumping . In June 2010, after disappointing sales of their third single We Get Along , the band split from their record company. Shortly afterwards it dissolved. Officially, the band named artistic differences as the main reason for their split.
