Ricardo Dal Farra

Ricardo Dal Farra (* 1957 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine composer and music teacher.

Dal Farra was director of the Estudio de Música Electroacústica in Buenos Aires from 1978 to 2003 . From 1996 to 2003 he worked as coordinator for multimedia communication for the Argentine Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. In 2002 he became director of the Centro de Experimentación e Investigación en Artes Electrónicas (CEIArtE). Since 2003 he has been living as Researcher in Residence at the Daniel Langlois Foundation in Montreal.

He teaches a. a. Music technology at the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero , as composition and improvisation at the Universidad Nacional de San Martín , electro-acoustics at the Conservatorio Municipal de Música de Buenos Aires , acoustics at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música , image and sound design at the Escuela Panamericana de Arte as well electroacoustic composition and multimedia technology at the Estudio de Música Electroacústica .

For more than ten years he produced radio series on electroacoustic music for Radio Nacional de Argentina and Radio Municipalidad de Buenos Aires . He also presented his work in the field of electroacoustic music and music education as a guest of the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) at Stanford University , New York University , the Juilliard School of Music , the Universidade de Brasília , the Conservatorio Nacional de Música de La Paz , the Universidad de Puerto Rico , the Banff Center and at the IRCAM .

Since the early 1970s, Del Farra has also worked as an interpreter of live electronics in the performances of his works. He has received composition awards and commissions from the International Computer Music Association , the Bienal Internacional de Artes de São Paulo, the Concours International de Musique Electroacoustique de Bourges and the Centro di Sonologia Computazionale of the Università degli Studi di Padova .
