Dalai Lama Renaissance is a documentary film made in 2000 for a conference with the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala , India .

The film accompanies 40 thinkers on their way to the mountains of the Himalayas. There they met with the Dalai Lama in his residence in northern India to discuss current problems in the world and to look for possible solutions. Director and producer Khashyar Darvich captured the week-long event with an 18-man film crew. The narrator is the actor Harrison Ford .

Dalai Lama Renaissance accompanies 40 leading experts in their respective fields, who have come together as a “Synthesis Group”, to a workshop with the Dalai Lama. The journey begins in India with a meeting of committed Buddhists, Catholics, philosophers and physicists. Everyone's goal is to develop a methodology to bring about social change and to put the world in order in a new way.
