Dalai Nur or Dalai Nuur is the name of two lakes in eastern Inner Mongolia .
The first lake
The larger of the two lakes is in the Hulun Buirs administrative region . It is popularly called "Dalai Nur" but is officially called Lake Hulun .
The second lake
The smaller of the two lakes, at 117 ° east of L. v. Size and 43 ° 20 'north Br., lies in the witches' banner of the prefecture-level city of Chifeng . It was visited by Przhevalsky in 1871 and was called the largest lake in southeastern Mongolia. It has a circumference of 65 km, receives four small tributaries, but has no outflow, is salty and rich in fish, but, at an altitude of 1400 m, is covered with ice for a large part of the year. The Darchanula Monastery is located on its southeast bank ; the surrounding area consists of hilly, mostly salty steppes.
