Dales Island is a small island in the William Scoresby Archipelago off the coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . It is there 1.5 km north of the Warnock Islands .
The island was discovered and named in February 1936 by participants in the British Discovery Investigations on board the research vessel RRS William Scoresby . It is named after Bernard Dales (1889–1978), chief engineer on this ship.
