history

Dalldorf already existed in the Middle Ages and looks back on more than 1000 years of history. The original location, however, was a little east of the current location. In the Thirty Years War , Dalldorf was badly devastated and initially not rebuilt. It was only in 1750 founded war and Domänenrat Leopold Friedrich Günther von Goeckingk the beginnings of today's Dalldorfs, as well as the at Oschersleben (Bode) located Günthersdorf . First seven colonists settled there. Towards the end of the 18th century, the Göckingk property passed into the hands of the Heyne family from Gröningen (later also Klostergut Hedersleben), who also built the Vorwerk and later independent manor and village Heynburg. The population then grew slowly. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village was subject to the district councilor Georg-Wilhelm Heyne and his heirs. The limestone quarrying for the sugar industry in the vicinity of Dalldorf acquired a certain regional economic importance from the middle of the 19th century . Steam plow companies also settled there later .

In 1910 Dalldorf had 267 inhabitants. In 1933 there were 298 people, in 1939 289 people.

In the Second World War , Dalldorf experienced its second great destruction. The United States Air Force attacked the village around noon on July 28, 1943 with about 100 explosive bombs. The target of the air attack were actually the aircraft works in Oschersleben (Bode), which are located much further north . About 70% of the place was destroyed, including the village church. One resident was killed and seven wounded.

On January 1, 1974, Dalldorf was incorporated into Gröningen. In 2000, the 250th anniversary of the new foundation was celebrated.

With the village church Dalldorf the place has a Protestant church, which belongs to the parish of Gröningen. In front of the church there is a war memorial that commemorates the citizens of Dalldorf who died in the war. A stone there also reminds of the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the re-establishment. Next to the church, the ceremonial hall in the cemetery, probably built from limestone at the beginning of the 20th century , is a listed building .

Dalldorf has its own volunteer fire brigade .
