Dalmady de Dalmad is an old nobility from Hont County . Its headquarters are in the Domadice settlement . The family partly belongs to the Hungarian nobility .

history

The family was first mentioned in 1290 with Comes Stephanus de Dalmad , who was called jobbagio castri Hont (German: lord of the castle of Hont).

Most of the descendants of Stephen were in the service of the royal house. This line of the family died out in the middle of the 16th century.

In the 17th century the sex represented important personalities. Another member of the family named Stephanus was the ambassador of Prince George II. Rákóczi to the Swedish Queen Christina . He conducted a lively correspondence with the Swedish Chancellor Axel Oxenstierna in order to achieve an alliance between Sweden and Hungary.

In the 18th and 19th centuries, the sex gradually lost its political importance.

The family is related to numerous noble families , including the Thúry , Pomothy , Bory , Horhy, Borsy, Sirmiensis , Lipthay and Armpruszter.
