The Damerower See is located in the Sternberg lake landscape , east of Goldberg in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is located in a natural landscape in the Nossentiner / Schwinzer Heide nature reserve . Almost the entire lakeshore is forested and almost entirely surrounded by a belt of reeds. The lake is very shallow, the average depth is 2.0 meters.
In the Neu Damerower Ufer area there is a manor house with a closed swimming area. The Damerower See formerly formed a common body of water with the Poseriner See . Through water regulation measures, a land bridge was created between the two lakes, over which the federal highway 192 and the Wismar-Karow railway line run.
