Damian Wleklak (born February 28, 1976 in Malbork , Poland ) is a Polish handball player . He is 1.86 m tall.
Wleklak, who plays for the German first division club GWD Minden (shirt number 22) and plays for the Polish national team (shirt number 11), is usually used on the back center .
Damian Wleklak made his debut for Wybrzeże Gdańsk in the Polish first division. There he won his first two Polish championships in 2000 and 2001. In 2001 he moved to the league competitor Wisła Płock , where he won four other championships in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006 and the Polish Cup in 2001 and 2005. In 2007 he was signed by the Austrian first division club Alpla HC Hard . In 2008, he won the Austrian Cup with the men from Lake Constance . For the 2009/2010 season he moved to GWD Minden, where he signed a two-year contract. In November 2010, Wleklak injured his shoulder so badly in the game against the Rhein-Neckar Löwen that he had to undergo an operation in December, which was canceled for the rest of the 2009/10 season .
In 2010 he signed with Wybrzeże Gdańsk as a coach. After the 2016/17 season he ended his coaching activity and became a manager at Wybrzeże Gdańsk.
Damian Wleklak has played over 130 international matches for the Polish men's national handball team . At the 2007 World Cup , he advanced to the final with Poland, where he was defeated by the German team .
