Damien Perquis (born March 8, 1986 in Saint-Brieuc ) is a French football goalkeeper .

Career

Perquis was accepted into the youth team of the Stade Rennes at the age of 15 , but switched to the Stade Brest in 2004 , where the president promised him a career as a professional player. On the part of the coach, however, he was rated differently and did not come to a single use until he moved to third division AS Beauvais in 2007 . In Beauvais he became a regular player and was only able to return to professional football a year later when he signed with SM Caen in 2008 .

Although he was in the squad of the first division team, he was initially used exclusively in the reserve selection. In 2010 he was allowed to play a competitive game for the first team for the first time when he was used in the national cup. When Alexis Thébaux moved to Brest in 2012 after Caen's relegation from the first division, Perquis, who had not previously played a single game in a professional league, directly took the position of first goalkeeper. On July 27, 2012, and thus on the first day of the new season, he made his second division and professional debut at the age of 26. After four years without a job, he played all 38 games in the 2012/13 season. It was the same in the following season, at the end of which in May 2014 the leap into first class was achieved.

With promotion to the top division, Caen signed Rémy Vercoutre, a competitor who took over the role of Perquis's regular goalkeeper. So he was demoted to a substitute again and had to do without missions for the whole of the following season. In the run-up to the 2015/16 season, he decided to return to the second division and signed with Valenciennes FC , where he became a regular goalkeeper again.
