Damoiseau is an impact crater on the western front of the moon , on the edge of Oceanus Procellarum , east of Grimaldi crater and north of Sirsalis . The rim of the crater is irregular and flattened, the interior with numerous furrows in the characteristic of a broken bottom crater .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the French astronomer Marie-Charles-Théodore de Damoiseau de Montfort .
