Steam locomotive tradition Oberhausen
The Steam Locomotive Traditionsgemeinschaft-Oberhausen e. V. (DTO) was an association based in Oberhausen (North Rhine-Westphalia) that dealt with the maintenance and operation of historic rail vehicles.
history
The association emerged from the steam locomotive working group 41 360 in the Bundesbahn-Sozialwerk . The association regularly ran special trains with steam locomotives and other historic vehicles. The members all worked on a voluntary basis.
In August 2016, insolvency proceedings were opened by order of the Duisburg District Court, which ended in the following year with the dissolution of the association. The vehicles of the bankruptcy estate were sold to the highest bidders from August 1, 2017.

The club owned or maintained some historic vehicles. The stock of the Oberhausen steam locomotive tradition included:
- Steam locomotive 41 360 (did not belong to the bankruptcy estate)
- Steam locomotive 01 1100 (loan from VM Nürnberg, owner Deutsche Bahn AG)
- Diesel locomotive V 200 116 (loan from VM Nürnberg, owner Deutsche Bahn AG)
- Dining car of the former DSG WRtmh 134 (insolvency estate )
- Rail mail car Bundespost, conversion of 20 m³ water tanks for steam locomotive operations Post mc / 26 (insolvency assets)
The club also had a modified second tender that can replace the missing infrastructure (oil bunkers, water taps) on special steam trips and thus enable a greater range. When the association was dissolved, it became part of the bankruptcy estate.
As passengers and photographers complained several times about the inauthentic appearance of the train when using the second tender, it was replaced by a postal van equipped with water tanks. The feed water required for the steam locomotive can be pumped from the mail van directly into the tender of the locomotive.
