Daniel Rhys Biggar (born October 16, 1989 in Morriston , Swansea ) is a Welsh rugby union player who is deployed in the position of the connector . He plays for the Northampton Saints and the Welsh national team .

Biggar began playing rugby at the Swansea RFC when he was ten . Admitted to the Ospreys Academy as a youth, he played for the country's youth national teams before appearing for the first time in the Magners League and for the Welsh national team in 2008 . In the same year he reached fourth place with the U20 national team at the world championships for this age group.

With Wales, Biggar won the Six Nations in 2012 and 2013 . In 2017 he was part of the British and Irish Lions , but did not appear in the test series against New Zealand . For the 2018/19 season he moved to England to the Northampton Saints.
