Dan Stockalper

Dan Stockalper (born September 25, 1956 in San Diego ) is a former American - Swiss basketball player .

career

Stockalper played in his homeland, the US state of California , at Ramona High School, at MiraCosta College and briefly at California State University, Stanislaus , before moving to Switzerland as a professional in 1976. There the 1.86 meter tall player played for the next 15 years for AS Viganello, FV Lugano, Vevey Basket and Pully Basket. At Vevey, where he was under contract from 1982 to 1987, he was nicknamed “La Gâchette” (German: the trigger ) because of his strengths as a thrower . In Pully he sometimes played in a team with his cousin Mike Stockalper .

Stockalper, whose son Derek also played basketball at university and professional level, ran for the Swiss national team, took part with her in the elimination rounds for the 1980 and 1984 Summer Olympics and was each with 27 and 26.7 points pro Game of the best offensive player of the «Nati».

After his competitive sports career, Stockalper worked in banking.
