Danae Kontora

Danae Kontora ( Greek Δανάη Κοντόρα ; * 1988 in Athens ) is a Greek opera singer ( coloratura soprano ).

Life

In 2010 she completed her studies in singing, piano and music theory at the Greek Conservatory in Athens. Since 2013 she has been studying music theater / opera singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with Professor Fenna Kügel-Seifried and at the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding .

In 2015/16 Kontora was a member of the Frankfurt Opera Studio . After appearances in university productions followed engagements at the Bad Reichenhaller Philharmonie , at the Munich Biennale , at the Prinzregententheater in Munich and at the Würzburg Mozart Festival .

In the 2015/16 season she made her debut at the Leipzig Opera House as Queen of the Night in Mozart's Magic Flute and became a member of the ensemble there from the 2016/17 season.

Awards

Danae Kontora was awarded the Bavarian Art Prize 2015.
