Danelle Umstead

Danelle D'Aquanni Umstead (born February 15, 1972 ) is an American ski racer and disabled athlete .

She is part of the USA Paralympic Team. She started in slalom, giant slalom, downhill, super-G and combined at the Winter Paralympics 2010 in Vancouver, with her husband Rob Umstead as her companion . They won the bronze medal in downhill and combined. She also took part in the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi and won a bronze medal in the super combined . At the 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang, she took part in the downhill , slalom , giant slalom , super-G and super-combined disciplines .

She has a genetic eye disease called retinopathia pigmentosa .

On September 12, 2018, Umstead was announced as one of the celebrities of the 27th season of Dancing with the Stars . Your professional partner is Artem Chigvintsev.
