Daniel Achilles

Daniel Achilles (* 1976 in Leipzig ) is a German chef .

Career

After completing his training as a chef, Achilles worked in the Stadtpfeiffer restaurant in Leipzig, where he got to know gourmet cuisine. While doing community service as a gardener, he learned a lot about herbs and vegetables. As a cook he went to various positions in Tübingen, Saarland and Munich.

With his partner Sabine Demel as a restaurant manager, he opened his own restaurant Reinstoff in Berlin in March 2009 . There he was awarded one Michelin star in 2009 and two Michelin stars in 2011 . In 2013 he was named Chef of the Year 2014 by Gault Millau .

At the end of 2018, the restaurant closed when the lease expired. Daniel Achilles and Sabine Demel announced that they would be opening a new restaurant.
