Daniel Akpeyi (born August 3, 1986 in Nnewi ) is a Nigerian football goalkeeper .

Career

society

Until 2006 he was a youth at FC Gabros International , a club from his hometown. He then ran for the professionals for a year. Between 2007 and 2009 he was under contract with Nasawara United FC . In 2014 he moved to Warri Wolves FC . Since 2015 he has played for Chippa United FC in the Premier Soccer League in South Africa .

National team

At the junior soccer world championship in 2005 he was part of the 22-strong squad, but was not used. The first international match followed on March 29, 2015 in a friendly against South Africa . Here he was used over the full distance. The game ended with a 1-1 draw. At the 2016 Olympic Games , he won the bronze medal with the team.

He was also part of the Nigerian squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where Nigeria was eliminated in Group D in the group stage after losing to Croatia and Argentina and beating Iceland . However, he was not used.
