Daniel Kühnel

Daniel Kühnel (born March 12, 1973 in Jerusalem ) is an Israeli-German theater director , director and director of the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra .

He was assistant to the artistic director at the Deutsche Oper Berlin . Since 2004 he has been the artistic director and managing director of the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra . He studied piano at the conservatory in Jerusalem, musicology and law at the Free University of Berlin . He learned to direct with Götz Friedrich and Willi Decker at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.

Daniel Kühnel was artistic advisor to the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra. He teaches art and culture reflection at the University of Witten-Herdecke .
