Daniel R. Carter

Daniel R. Carter (* 1961 ) is an American computer scientist. He is the founder and CEO of Windmill Investments, based in Salem, Oregon. Daniel Carter is an international software localization expert thanks to his long experience in the field.

Life

Daniel R. Carter studied computer science at Oregon State University and graduated in 1983. He then worked for Microsoft at its headquarters in Redmond , Washington , from 1983 to 1989 . There he worked on the localization of Microsoft products in European languages. He was also jointly responsible for the establishment and management of Microsoft branches in Great Britain , the Benelux countries and Scandinavia . At the same time, Daniel R. Carter was doing a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Washington .

In 1989, he and his wife Yvonne founded International Software Products (iSP), which specialized in software localization. Until 2001, Carter was the CEO of iSP. From 2001 to 2005, Carter worked as a management consultant, primarily for companies in the software localization industry. Daniel Carter was a founding member of the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA) and a member and vice president of TILP (The Institute of Localization Professionals). Daniel R. Carter has been CEO of Windmill Investments, which he founded, since 2004 .
