Daniel Schnyder (born June 21, 1985 in Zurich ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player who was active for the ZSC Lions between 2004 and 2016 .

Career

Daniel Schnyder began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth of the GCK Lions , for whose professional team he made his debut in the National League B in the 2001/02 season . After another two seasons with the GCK Lions in the NLB, the defender made his debut in the 2004/05 season in the National League A , for the ZSC Lions , where he was on the ice in nine games in his rookie year . In the 2008/09 season , the left-handed shooter won the newly founded Champions Hockey League with his team, after he prevailed with his team in the final against HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk from the Continental Hockey League . On March 31, 2016, the end of his career was announced after he had not played in any game in the 2015/16 season due to a concussion. Within twelve years he played 549 games in the NLA and won the championship three times with the ZSC Lions (2008, 2012, 2014).

For Switzerland , Schnyder took part in the 2003 U18 Junior World Championship and the 2005 U20 Junior World Championship .
