Daniel Unal (born January 18, 1990 in Locarno ) is a Swiss football player of Aramaic descent (from the Tur Abdin ). He has been without a club since July 1, 2013.

Unal started his football career with the juniors of FC Locarno . In 2005 he moved to the juniors of AC Bellinzona and later played with the first team in the Challenge League . In the 2007/08 season he played on loan in the youth department of AS Roma . He played in various Swiss national teams and was a Swiss U-20 national player.

Between July 2008 and June 2011 he was a member of the FC Basel squad . In the first season at FC Basel, he played exclusively in the U-21 team of FC Basel. In the 2009/10 season he was part of the extended circle of the first team and also made a few appearances in the Axpo Super League , the Swiss Cup and the UEFA Europa League . In the 2010/11 season he made the leap into the first team and became Swiss champions for the second time with FC Basel. In August 2011 he was signed by FC Locarno from the Challenge League. He has been without a club since January 1, 2012.
