The Daniel Webster Law Office occupies a historic building from the 19th century in Marshfield in the state of Massachusetts of the United States . It was inscribed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1974 as a National Historic Landmark . It is located in the immediate vicinity of Isaac Winslow House and together with it forms a museum.
Historical meaning
The one-room building was erected in 1832 for the politician Daniel Webster and was mainly used as a place of retreat when he wanted to work in peace. The all-wood house originally stood as an outbuilding on Webster's Green Harbor estate in Marshfield, which is now listed as the Thomas-Webster Estate in the NRHP. After the main house there burned down in 1878, it is the only remaining structure on the property. In 1966 it was moved to its current location, restored and opened to the public as a museum.
