The Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary is a 578  acres (2.3  km² ) large protected area in Marshfield in the state of Massachusetts of the United States . It is administered by the Massachusetts Audubon Society .

Protected area

In the sanctuary named after politician Daniel Webster , visitors can enjoy 3.5 mi (5.6  km ) of hiking trails  that run through fields, forests, and wetlands. A 0.6 mi (1 km) long circular route is barrier-free . The sanctuary is home to a wide variety of animals from shorebirds and turtles to muskrats and mink , which can be spotted from observation platforms and wooden paths. In the grassland faces of the protected area live mainly Meadowlark ( Sturnella magna ), buntings ( Passerculus sandwichensis ) and Reisstärlinge , but there is also a colony of Purple Martins that near the Pond Webster nest.
