Daniel Wyrsch

Daniel Wyrsch (born May 18, 1963 ; resident in Buochs ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life

Daniel Wyrsch grew up in Eastern Switzerland . He later attended grammar school in Bern and then studied mathematics and education at the University of Bern . From 1991 to 2015 he worked at the Bern Commercial Industrial Vocational School . He was a teacher and head of the mathematics department and a member of the cantonal mathematics commission. From 1996 Wyrsch was also administrator and deputy of the school board. Since 2016, Wyrsch has been the managing director of the Bernese State Staff Association BSPV. Wyrsch is married, has four grown children and lives in Jegenstorf .

Wyrsch joined the Social Democratic Party in 1992. In 1993 he was elected as a lateral entrant to the local council and vice-president of the local council (executive) of Jegenstorf and took over the department of economics, environment, traffic and local police . In 2001 he was elected mayor, but could not run again in the 2005 elections due to a term limit. In 2009 and then in 2013, Wyrsch was re-elected mayor of Jegenstorf. During this second presidential term of Wyrsch, among other things, the project management of the municipal merger of Jegenstorf with Münchringen and Scheunen fell , which was accepted by the three municipalities at the urn in 2013. At the end of 2015 he resigned from the office of mayor due to taking over the management of the BSPV.Since 2016 he has been a member of the finance committee of the Jegenstorf community.

In 2014 Wyrsch was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern and was re-elected in the 2018 elections. He was a member of the Justice Commission from 2014 to 2016 and has been a member of the Finance Commission since 2017.

Wyrsch has been a board member of the SP Jegenstorf since 1993 and was president of the local association and cantonal delegate from 1999 to 2003. Since 2018 he has chaired the investment committee of the administrative committee of the Bernese pension fund BPK and is a member of the foundation board of the Jegenstorf Castle Foundation .
