Danielle Egan

Danielle Egan Reyna (born August 28, 1973 in New York) is a former American football player. She played six times for the United States women's national soccer team in 1993.

Life

Egan played for North Carolina Tar Heels under coach Anson Dorrance and alongside Mia Hamm , Tisha Venturini and Kristine Lilly . In 1993 she played six games for the US women's senior team. On July 7, 1993, she scored the 1-0 in the 6-0 win over Australia in Hamilton, Ontario.

In July 1997, she married Claudio Reyna , who was then a member of the US men's national soccer team. The couple have four children, one of whom died of cancer in 2012. The family lived long in Bedford, New York, until Claudio Reyna became sporting director at Austin FC in November 2019.
