The Dankernsee (also Stretch Dankern) is a quarry pond about 3 km west of Haren (Ems) in Emsland , Lower Saxony .

The 40 hectare, winding lake borders a leisure and holiday center with over 700 holiday homes around the Dankern Castle , which forms the center of the complex.
The lake is used as a bathing lake . Access to the lake is free and there is no lifeguard. The bathing water quality has been tested according to EU guidelines since 1996; since 1998 very good values have been determined. At the lake there is a water ski facility , a surf school and a diving school , and to the west of the lake there is also a kart track and an airfield.
At the back of the lake are several man-made sandy beaches, u. a. with the possibility of using it as a dog beach, and an artificial sand dune.
