Danna Paola Rivera Munguía (born June 23, 1995 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican singer and actress .

Live and act

She had her first TV appearance in a Mexican TV series " Plaza Sésamo ". At the age of five, she took on the role of Lupita Lerma in the mini-TV series Rayito de Luz . She became known through the Mexican telenovela María Belén in which she played the title role in over 100 episodes alongside Nora Salinas. The telenovela was broadcast in over 73 countries. She also sang the title song of the series with Rabanitos Verdes.

In 2000 she released her first album. The following year she played in the Mexican telenovela Vivan los Ninos , but had to leave the series early due to an illness.

This was followed in 2004 by the lead role in Amy, la niña de la mochila azul , in which she sang most of the titles in the series herself. These finally appeared on two CDs under the title of the television series. The telenovela had a total of 115 episodes.

Based on the series, a musical was created in which Munguía performed live with some of the other actors in several cities in Mexico. At the same time she released her second official album. After the success of the series, she played the lead role in the musical Anita, la Huerfanita for six months at the theater .

In 2005 her third album Chiquita pero Picosa was released . The single of the same name climbed to number 22 on the US Billboard charts . Then Munguía got the lead role in a new telenovela, Pablo y Andrea . The then 10-year-old girl played the role of Andrea . For this series she won, among other things, the "Tv y Novelas Award" for best child actress. She also sang the theme song. Due to the success of their albums, the CD called Canta como Danna Paola came out in 2005 .

A first live concert by Danna Paola in the “Metropolitan Teatro” in Mexico was later also released on DVD. Another album followed in June 2007, which also included the first official music video. At the end of 2007 she had a small supporting role in the feature film Arráncame la Vida .

In early 2008 she began working on the telenovela Querida Enemiga , in which she played Bettina. In 2008 she was nominated for the second time for the "TV y Novelas Award" for best child actress.

From 2009 to 2010 she played in the telenovela Atrévete a soñar . A CD was released for the series in 2009, which achieved double platinum status. Most of the songs were sung by Danna Paola. Danna Paola had success with the theme song Mundo de Caramelo . From 2009 to 2010 a national tour took place as part of the series. In 2009 Danna Paola was nominated again for the "TV y Novelas Awards".

Shortly before her 14th birthday, photos of her appeared in the magazine "Quien". These made headlines as they were bikini shots .

In 2010 Danna Paola went on tour ( Tour Caramelo ) through Mexico as a solo singer in addition to the ongoing Atrévete a soñar tour with her old songs . She also sang some of the songs from Atrévete a soñar . During this tour, she recorded the theme song for the Disney film Toy Story III .

From October 2013 to January 2015 played one of the leading roles in the Mexican version of the musical Wicked . From 2015 to 2016 she was seen in the telenovela Quien es Quien as the young mother Paloma . Since 2018 she can be seen as Lu in the Netflix- produced series Élite .
