Danny's Girl is a short film directed by Emily Wilson that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2020 .

Shy 35-year-old Danny is single and shares his apartment with a bearded dragon . He searches the Internet for the right woman and is immediately taken with blond Cleo when he sees her photo on a dating website.

When they meet, Danny is very nervous. He wants to take her home with him to cook something nice for her. When Cleo has to pee again while driving in his car, she leaves a box on the passenger seat. Curiously, Danny opens it and discovers a doll in it, which he throws out the window in shock because he believes it is a real baby. Because he can't find the doll outside in a hurry, he puts a pumpkin in the box.

When Cleo notices at his home that her "baby" is gone, she freaks out. He tries to talk his way out of it, but passes out from excitement. When he comes to, he finds himself naked and tied to a chair. Cleo asks him if he's been pregnant before. Danny hasn't even had sex in his life. She sits on him and they kiss. She unties him and tells him to come inside. One of Danny's sperm nests in one of Cleo's eggs.

The film was first shown on January 25, 2020 at the Sundance Film Festival . After the cancellation of the South by Southwest Film Festival , where the film was to be shown in March 2020, the independent film distributor Oscilloscope Laboratories and the technology company Mailchimp made the film available free of charge on a joint online platform for 30 days.
