Danny Schenkel (born April 1, 1978 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch football player . The defender has played over 250 games in Dutch professional football in his career to date.

Career

Schenkel made his debut in August 1999 for Telstar in the Eerste Divisie . He quickly established himself as a regular and reached with the club from Velsen , which was renamed Stormvogels Telstar in 2001 , midfield in the second highest division in the Netherlands.

In 2002 Schenkel moved on to league rivals Sparta Rotterdam . Here, too, he was a regular player straight away and also knew how to convince as a goalscorer. In his first two years he scored five goals this season and thus helped the club to rise to the Eredivisie in 2005 . After three years of first class with the club, he moved again in 2008.

At the end of May 2008, Schenkel's move to Willem II became known.
