Dany Schwickerath

Dany Schwickerath (* 13. February 1969 in Trier ; actually Daniel Schwickerath , nicknamed Mr. Quick finger ) is a German jazz - guitarist and jazz guitar teacher.

Act

In the eleventh grade, Schwickerath left high school to devote himself to his musical education. He took lessons from guitarists such as Erich Pützer, Michael Sagmeister , John Abercrombie and Peter O'Mara . He started studying guitar, harmony, composition and arrangement at the Folkwang School in Essen

Since then, Schwickerath has been active in various jazz formations in the Trier area, but has also been on tour internationally, including with Bobby Shew and Lee Konitz . With the latter he recorded the album Subconscious Lee in 1996 . In 2006 he founded the duo Schwickerath & van den Heuvel with the Dutch-Luxembourg singer Edith van den Heuvel . In 2009 they recorded the album Hidden Waltz .

Schwickerath lived in Essen for ten years and taught at the Folkwang University there, where he had previously studied. In 2000 he was involved in a CD for the 70th anniversary of the university.

He later taught electric guitar at the Lippstadt Music School . Today he gives private lessons in Trier.
