Daresbury

Daresbury is a place in the Unitary Authority Halton in County Cheshire in north-west England and has a population of 3,906 (2001).

Science and Technology

Daresbury is home to the Daresbury Laboratory, which belongs to the CCLRC (Council for the Central Laboratory of the Research Councils) and has been part of the Science and Technology Facilities Council since 2007 . A large particle accelerator called Synchrotron Radiation Source operated here, which was closed in 2008.

Attractions

In the Daniell Chapel , built around 1550, there is a window that shows Lewis Carroll, Alice and other fictional characters such as the white rabbit , Dodo , the Duchess , the Cheshire cat, and the king and queen of hearts .

At the bottom of the window you can find the lettering:
