Dario Piana

Dario Piana (* 1955 in Milan ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

After finishing school, Piana attended the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in his hometown. From 1972 to 1978 he worked as a cartoonist , then from 1980 to 1983 he worked for the advertising agency J. Walter Thompson . As a freelance director for advertising productions, he gained a wide variety of experience in around 450 productions, in which he was also able to work with outstanding outfitters and costume designers. Numerous awards in the advertising industry have been awarded to his work.

In 1988 he made his feature film debut with the feature film Sotto il vestito niente 2 , the continuation of Carlo Vanzina's success . After working as a screenwriter on television, another feature film followed in 2006, the horror film The Deaths of Ian Stone, produced in the United States . As before, however, Piana is one of the most sought-after specialists in his branch as an advertising director.

Piana is not to be confused with the DJ and music journalist of the same name.
