Darius Valys

Darius Valys (born September 23, 1972 ) is a Lithuanian lawyer, prosecutor , former Prosecutor General of Lithuania, head of the Lithuanian Prosecutor General (2010-2014).

biography

After graduating from the secondary school he graduated bachelor of electrical engineering from 1990 to 1994 at the Polytechnic Faculty Šiauliai of the Polytechnic Institute of Kaunas . From 1995 to 1999 he graduated from the Law Faculty of Vilnius University with a degree in law.

From 1996 to 1999 he was an interrogator in the Interrogation Division of the Akmenė District Police Department, and from April 1999 to December 2001 he was a public prosecutor and from 2001 to 2010 June the chief prosecutor of the Akmenė Public Prosecutor's Office. From June 15, 2010 to May 2014, he was Attorney General of Lithuania (appointed by President Dalia Grybauskaitė ).

Valys is married. His wife, Jolanta Valienė, works as a local civil servant in the Akmenė District Administration .
