After a "different" Martha saved Jonas in his world from the apocalypse on June 27, 2020, they will materialize again after their journey in a parallel world . Bartosz shows her a secret room in which Gustav's father, Heinrich, once wanted to build a time machine to prevent his wife's death. This room will later be used as the headquarters of Sic mundus . Bartosz learns from this Martha that the grown-up Jonas will become Adam, who will eventually shoot "his" Martha. In 1987 Katharina found out that Ulrich was stuck in a closed ward. She promises to free him and travel back to 2020 with Mikkel. Meanwhile, the marriage between Tronte and Jana is facing a crucial test after Mads is symbolically buried and Jana publicly reveals Tronte's affair with Claudia at the funeral service. Tronte visits Regina, whom he thinks is his daughter, and decides not to question the disappearance of Claudia any further. | Gustav Tannhaus is on his way to town in 1888 to announce the existence of time travel via telegram, but is murdered by the stranger on the way. Meanwhile, an argument breaks out between the grown-up Jonas and Bartosz, because he had not reported to them that he was Adam himself. Martha tries to earn Jonas' trust by giving him her supposedly last dose of the god particle that operates her time machine. With their help, Jonas succeeds in taking a significant step towards activating the God Particle, but soon finds out that Martha lied and left the year 1888 a short time later. In 2053 she meets old Jonas, who calls himself Adam. She was commissioned by him to save Jonas and help his adult self.
In the parallel world, Jonas learns in 2019 that there is an older version of Martha called Eva. She is the counterpart to Adam from his world. Both worlds are irrevocably connected with each other like a knot. In contrast to Adam, however, she wants to maintain both worlds while he wants to destroy them. She tells Jonas that if he wants to save himself and Martha, then he must lead Martha out of Eva's world and make her later become Eva herself. The stranger also works for Eva and gives her the keys to the nuclear power plant. In the meantime, Ulrich informs his police colleagues that Bartosz, Magnus, Franziska and Kilian have found the body of Ulrich's brother Mads, who disappeared in 1986. Charlotte then searches the location in the bunker again and finds Helge's followers. Adam moved into Sic mundus' headquarters in 2053. Agnes tells him to know the true origin of the endless cycle and a short time later enters the god particle to travel in it. In Eva's world, the apocalypse caused the city and region to be transformed into a desert landscape in 2052. Jonas and Martha go with the adult Martha to the bunker near Helge's hut. However, only one of the two worlds could be saved and Jonas had to choose between his world without Martha and Eva's world with Martha. After the two set off, the young Noah notes that the genealogy of the Winden families is in reality an endless cycle that originated in Jonas and Martha. | In 2019 in Eva's world, Martha and Jonas go to the nuclear power plant to prevent the apocalypse. However, when she injures herself on a fence and Jonas is reminded of the scar on Eva's face, he realizes that Eva really wants everything to happen as it always has. However, since this would not prevent the apocalypse, they decide to confront Eve instead. There they not only meet Eva herself, but also her adult self and her youthful self. To the amazement of Martha, with whom Jonas entered the building, the visibly emotionally troubled "other" young Martha takes up a gun and shoots Jonas.
In 1987 Katharina tries to free Ulrich from the closed department in Adam's World. To do this, she has to steal the key card from her mother Helene, who works there. She drops her follower of Christophorus on the beach, where Martha will find him in 2019. In Eva's world, Eve explains to her younger self in 2052 that the murder of Martha by Adam in his world represented the overlap of two realities in this world. Due to the apocalypse, time stood still for a brief moment, so that two events occurred. In a reality, after Martha's death, Jonas was rescued from Eva's world by Martha and brought into the parallel world. In another reality, Jonas is not saved by Martha and survives the apocalypse in the basement of his house. This Jonas will later become Adam. The origin of this fact is quantum entanglement . This creates two versions of Jonas and Martha. Martha travels to Eva's world on the day of the apocalypse and tries to warn Magnus of impending doom. In the meantime , almost all of the storylines that were shown in the years 1888, 1921, 1954, 1987, 2020 and 2053 connect and also play in several intervening years to illustrate the development of the individual characters and how they became them as they were shown in later years. On the one hand, Jonas was saved by Martha from the apocalypse that brought him into Eva's world. In the other scenario, Bartosz stops Martha on behalf of his older self and travels with her back to Eva's world, where her older self and Eva give her the order to shoot Jonas as soon as he and Martha arrive at the Erit Lux headquarters in 2019 .
In 1890, Bartosz meets Silja, who traveled back through the god particle from 2053. They fall in love and have two children. Hanno (Noah) was born in 1904, his sister Agnes in 1910, while Silja died. In 1911 Hannah arrives in the village with her daughter Silja. Jonas, who has gradually become Adam through numerous experiments, kills his mother in her sleep and takes Silja into his secret society Sic mundus . HG Tannhaus built his own time machine in the bunker between 1974 and 1986. He wants to reverse the death of his son, his wife and their daughter. In 2023, Jonas and Claudia are still not making any progress in terms of activating the god particle. When Jonas tries desperately to hang himself at the site of his father's suicide, he is saved at the last moment by the young Noah. Together, the three try to activate the god particle by 2041. At this point, Noah has been with Elisabeth for a long time and the two have a young daughter. However, in 2041 she is kidnapped by the adult Elisabeth and Charlotte, who were sent through the God Particle by Adam in 2053. They bring the baby to HG Tannhaus, who adopts and raises it as his granddaughter. Noah suspects Claudia behind the kidnapping and accuses Jonas of treason. This initiates his search for Claudia's notebook and the later entry into Sic mundus . Adam travels to Jonas on the day of the apocalypse according to Claudia's instructions and brings him to Eva's world, where he has to convince Martha there to destroy the origin. Adam then visits Eve at Erit Lux's headquarters , but to Eve's surprise does not shoot her, as was originally the case in every cycle. When she realizes that the cycle will finally come to an end, she hugs Adam. Jonas manages to catch Martha at the last moment, before Magnus and Franziska bring them to Adam's world and travels with her through the passage into the original world on the day of the death of HG Tannhaus family. There they convince Marek and his wife Sonja not to travel on by car and instead return to HG Tannhaus. In this way they prevent HG Tannhaus from building the time machine, who thus - without knowing it - de facto reversed the death of his family .
