Dark Order is an Australian thrash metal band from Sydney that was formed in 1992 under the name Vanadium .
history
The band was founded in December 1992 by guitarist and singer Raul Ignacio Alvarez Garcia under the name Vanadium. Under this name, the band released their first two demos, Warrior God-King (1994) and War of Attrition (1995), before the group was renamed Dark Order in 1995. In 1996 the band recorded their debut album, 5000 Years of Violence , which was released in 1998. In May 2001 the band recorded their next album, before it was released in November 2002 under the name The Violence Continuum . On the day the album was released, the band also played a concert with Destruction . In February 2004 the band signed a contract with Battlegod Productions , which distributes their records through Twilight Distribution . On October 20, 2006, a special edition of The Violence Continuum was released , which included a remixed version of the album and a DVD called Realm of the Violence Continuum . The DVD contained music videos for Slaves of a Nameless God and The Terran Empire , as well as other bonus material. The next album, Cold War of the Condor, followed on August 20, 2010 via Battlegod Productions, with distribution via Twilight Distribution.
style
The band plays thrash metal in the style of bands from the San Francisco Bay Area , with music reminiscent of Slayer's early works . In some cases, influences from hardcore punk are also processed.
