Darren Styles (* 1975 in Colchester , Essex, as Darren Mew ) is a British DJ and singer . He was best known for his work in the music groups Force & Styles and Styles & Breeze , but was also successful as a solo artist.

Career

Styles started as a DJ when he was 16. He made a name for himself in the team with Paul Hobbs alias DJ Force from 1993 as Force & Styles . They were very successful in the area of happy hardcore and received several awards.

Six years later he began working with Mark Breeze. They formed the duo Styles & Breeze , which achieved two hits in the British charts: You're Shining (2004, number 19) and Heartbeatz (2005, number 16).

From 2002 he wrote several chart hits for Kelly Llorenna, Flip & Fill and the dance band Ultrabeat , including their number 2 hit Pretty Green Eyes .

He has been a very successful solo DJ since 2006. At the Hardcore Awards he was named best DJ and best producer. His single Save Me became the single of the year. In 2008 he released his first album Skydivin , a double CD with songs in hardcore and other styles. It entered the UK singles chart at number 4 on the sales charts.

In September 2010 the second studio album Feel the Pressure was released . It reached number 23 in the British Singles Chart and was there for two weeks. This was followed by a collaboration with the German DJ and producer Manian with the title Outta My Head , through which he was able to celebrate successes beyond the borders.

In the following years his style developed further away from happy hardcore and could be classified more and more in the area of euphoric hardstyle music. In the course of this he acted among others on record labels such as “Dirty Workz” and “Scantraxx” and worked with producers such as Atmozfears and Da Tweekaz . In 2017 there was a guest appearance at Defqon.1 .
