The Face of Russia and the Face of the Revolution (published by Kösel in the series of books of 19 in 1961) is an autobiography by the Russian - German writer , philosopher , politician and sociologist Fedor Stepun , which he himself translated into German and that of the Years of his birth in 1884 until his expulsion in 1922.

In the first chapters Stepun describes his youth in the Russian provinces . He then tells of his path to the philosophical circles of Moscow and Saint Petersburg , with special attention to his work as a representative of the symbolists . The first high point are his descriptions of the February Revolution (in the chapter “February”) under Kerensky , under whom he also became a minister . The work finds the second and even more dramatic climax in the gripping depiction of the October Revolution (in the chapter "October"), as well as his arduous life in exile in the periphery and from his escape to Germany and France .
