production

The basis for the production is an exclusive contract between the author Harlan Coben and Netflix for 14 works by Coben. After the already published British miniseries Safe and I'm Silent for You , Das Grab im Wald is the third production from this deal .

The filming location of the series was Warsaw , the scene of the holiday camp was shot in the Kabaty Forest , in the south of Warsaw.

reception

Forbes Magazine's Sheena Scott describes The Grave in the Woods as an excellent series that is captivating from the start. She particularly praises the different colors and tones that show the viewer at what time the story is currently playing.

Oliver Armknecht from film-rezensions.de, on the other hand, does not necessarily recommend watching the series as a crime fanatic, even if he has seen atmospheric moments in the series.

On the other hand, Martin Schwickert from RP Online expressed himself positively , he was particularly enthusiastic about the location, in contrast to the original book. [T] he relocation of the scene opens. The kinship with the Scandinavian crime tradition is unmistakable. Above all, however, the Polish production convinces with its striking actor faces, which were shaped by life in a way that you will never find on California beauty farms or in Hollywood.
