Das Narr is a Swiss magazine for literature .

history

Das Narr was founded as Narr - the narrativistic literary magazine by René Frauchiger, Lukas Gloor and Daniel Kissling. The first issue appeared in June 2011. In addition to the regular issues, the magazine has published several special issues over the years. For example, a literary cookbook (2012), a literary agenda (2014), a literary travel guide about the city of Basel (2015) and a series of notebooks (2016).

Since 2014 the Narr has been designed by the two graphic artists David Lüthi and Mirko Leuenberger. In 2016, the magazine was awarded the canton of Solothurn's literature prize. In 2018, the magazine was nominated for the Swiss Design Prize for the design of the magazine and in 2019 the magazine was nominated for the Swiss Design Prize .

Conception

Das Narr appears three times a year, twice as a regular edition and once as a special issue in the form of a separate book publication. Well-known authors such as Franz Hohler , Friederike Kretzen , Michelle Steinbeck , Werner Rohner or Hans Magnus Enzensberger have published in Fool. The magazine has set itself the goal of also publishing unknown authors and thus making it easier for them to make the first book publication.

Narrativism

The name of the magazine is derived from the term narrativism , which comes from narrative theory . Narrativism is understood by the editors in the most general sense as the urge to tell, be it for the sake of the sound of the language or the sake of a story.
