The New Pomerania

The New Pomerania , also spelled New Pomerania , was an artist group that existed in Pomerania in the 1930s .

The association was founded on January 13, 1930 in Stettin on the initiative of Gregor Rosenbauer , director of the Stettin School of Applied Arts , and Johannes Itten , visiting professor at the School of Applied Arts. The association organized four art exhibitions in the Provincial Museum of Pomeranian Antiquities in Szczecin, founded in 1927 . On April 21, 1933, the association dissolved under pressure from the NSDAP .

The members included the picture weaver Else Mögelin , the painter Julo Levin and the sculptors Kurt Schwerdtfeger and Joachim Utech .
