The traffic court

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Verkehrsgericht was a court broadcast that was broadcast as a television series on ZDF between 1983 and 2001 .

title

An independent traffic court, as the title suggests, does not exist in everyday German court life. Traffic offenses are negotiated by a department of the local court or - in the case of a value in dispute of 5000 euros or more - before the regional court. An appeal to the regional court is only permitted from a value in dispute of 600 euros. The further instance can lead a traffic offense to the Federal Court of Justice (BGH) if the legal matter is of fundamental importance or the further training of the law or the securing of a uniform jurisprudence requires a decision of the appeal court. In the case of a traffic matter, a distinction must be made between its civil law part (e.g. compensation ) and the criminal law aspect (e.g. violation of § 315c StGB - endangering road traffic ). The show was only about this criminal part.
