action

The series is about Kelly Quinn and her two friends Darbie and Hannah. In the Quinn family's attic , they find a cookbook with various recipes . Cooking according to the recipes has “ magical ” consequences.

season 1

In the bustling town of Saffron Falls, teenage girls Kelly, Darbie and Hannah are best friends who love to cook. While baking a cake for Kelly's grandma's (who has a mysterious illness and can't talk and think clearly) birthday, the girls made the recipe using an old cookbook they found in the attic. The recipes you find in it have strange names like "Shut'em Up Shortcake" and "Hazelnut Healing Tart" and call for unusual ingredients like "Cedronian Vanilla" and "Taurian thyme". The girls go to Mama P.'s shop to get the ingredients for the "Shut'em Up Shortcake", and since nobody knows what they need, Mama P. reveals that she knows what the ingredients are and she gives them the cedronic vanilla. They bake the cake, but when Kelly's brother Buddy and Hannah eat a bite of the cake and feel unable to speak, the three friends realize they are spells. At the same time as Hannah and Buddy's silence, Darbie can't stop talking. Because of this, they also recognize that the spells are associated with a consequence.

Kelly, Darbie and Hannah investigate the magical recipes and face the temptation to use magic to overcome the everyday challenges of middle school. They come to the conclusion that Mama P. knows about magic because she apparently has an extensive knowledge of magical ingredients. They also discover that creepy neighbor Ms. Silvers has a connection to magic too, after she warns them to stay away from it and tells them it is too dangerous. The girls realize that they are the protectors of the magical cookbook and that there have been many others before them, including Mama P., Ms. Silvers, and Kelly's grandmother Becky Quinn. Under all of this, Kelly has one overarching goal: to find the magical recipe that will fix her grandmother's mysterious illness, even if it means crossing over the creepy Mama P. or the scary Ms. Silvers. As the girls work together, they discover that Kelly's grandmother Becky is under a curse, as are Mama P. (whose curse she won't let out of the Safran Falls) and Ms. Silvers (whose curse won't let her play the piano). As the girls try to rid Grandma Quinn of her curse, they discover various secrets of the past.

season 2

Part 1

After Kelly, Hannah and Darbie rid the city of Mama P's curse with their "Last-Ditch Layer Cake", they also break Grandma Quinn and Ms. Silvers' curse so that Grandma can talk again and Ms. Silvers can play the piano in public can play. At the same time, they realize that they have broken every curse, which means that they have Chuck Hankins, a 1960s teenager who suddenly disappeared because of "Can't Recall Caramel," created by Gina Silvers, Ida Perez (Mama P) and Rebecca Quinn (Grandma Quinn). Now he wants to get revenge on the OC's (Original Cooks) Grandma Quinn, Ms. Silvers and Mama P. When Chuck gets his memories back, he becomes a lot more dangerous than Becky ever imagined, even if he can't touch the book right now.

When the girls search the library, they find a picture of an upper school class from 1865 with his name as Charles Peizer. The girls realize that Chuck is much older than the OC's and has disappeared before, but has stayed the same age. Chuck's original name is Charles Peizer and his sister's name was Rose Peizer and they were the cookbook's protectors. Charles intended to keep the book forever and used a magical recipe for it, but Rose Peizer took the recipe into the book and Charles remained immortal when the spell of the OC (Original Cook) was broken, Chuck appeared and met the Traveler on the way there who sacrificed her body to put a protective spell on the girls to save them from Chuck and eventually Chuck lost his memory but soon regained it. The OC's (above) does more research on Chuck's picture and finds out that the Peizers were the wealthiest family during that time and that West Peizer Park in Safran Falls was part of their estate.

At the same time, a strange symbol appears in the cookbook, and while Kelly tries to fix Jake's bike with a fixture spell, she "fixes" the symbol and completes it to a number - 8529. She is shocked to know that the number changes when she does takes a series of steps in a certain direction. She follows the book and arrives at West Peizer Park. Chuck has an invisible trailer right in front of Kelly's eyes, but Kelly can't see it. The girls try to ask the travelers for help, but she appears in all three dreams and says "Rose" and that the book is in danger and that they must protect it while they set fire to the book in the dream. Through an invisibility spell and a superpower spell, the girls are able to see and enter the trailer. There they discover that Chuck has another cookbook that is stealing recipes from her cookbook. They can steal it and discover that Mama P's morbid semen was stolen by Chuck. Mama P., who is also there, steals the seed back, later the original cooks enchanted him by keeping him at lavender height forever, which prevented him from taking the cookbook and stealing the magical ingredients. However, Chuck uses a different spell on Jake by using Mama P's morbid seeds and he gets into Jake's body and acts as Jake and knows her plans and has access to the spices. Chuck casts a spell on Hannah and tries to trade her for Rose, but Kelly and Darbie rescue her, breaking Chuck's immortality spells by also breaking Roses and getting her out of the book. Chuck and Rose go back in time and live their lives, with Rose turning 82 years old. West Peizer Park becomes Rose Peizer Park.

Part 2

A former guardian tries to extinguish the magic because she blames magic for all problems. She lets all guardians forget the magic, extinguishes all herbs and finally the magic garden. Then she tries to erase the memories of the three friends and then erases her own memory, assuming that no one knows anything about magic anymore. However, the three friends had cooked themselves immune. But since they no longer have any herbs - and the place where all herbs come from, the magic garden, was also destroyed - they are close to despair. However, they still have a bottle with a magical spice left. They quickly make the tea and bring the garden back to life. However, this family of herbs has side effects. And since they saved the garden, the side effect must be comparatively high. They think they are going to lose the book.

season 3

Part 1

In the third season, the three friends had just saved the magic garden. However, they used a spice that will always have a side effect. At first they think that the cookbook is the sacrifice they have had to make. However, the magic cookbook hasn't moved on. When magical spices suddenly grow everywhere, the three friends think that this was the price for saving the magical garden. They stop the magic spices from spreading.

A new competitor appears: you call her the night bandit. At first they think that she is the new owner of Mama P's. However, it turns out that it simply uses the karmaleon dragon fruit to change its appearance. The night bandit's goal is to bind the cookbook to herself forever. To do this, however, she needs the magic-enhancing spice and triggers an earthquake to get at it. The earthquake exposes Chuck's secret pantry, which also contains a baking pan in which he last baked a cake using this magical spice. The night bandit extracts the spice.

The girls find out that Kelly is the night bandit. The side effect to saving the garden was not the inexorable growth of magical herbs, but a manipulation of Kelly's perception. She thinks that her two friends are only interested in her as long as they can do magic. The girlfriends can convince her otherwise through a spell. However, the mischief has already happened: She had got them to cook the secret recipe with her that would bind the cookbook to them forever.

However, there are consequences: Kelly's grandmother is the price for such an important gift. Now they all want to reverse the spell and create their own spice. Finally, the magic cookbook moves on.

Then Kelly, Hannah and Darby learn that Zoe is the new protector because she finds the book and sends it to Kelly. They then travel to Bay City to teach the new protectors how to work together and use magic to save a wedding.

Part 2

The cookbook has passed to the new protectors: Zoe (Erin's daughter), Ish (Zoe's neighbor) and Leo (Zoe's stepbrother) and with the help of Kelly, Darbie and Hannah they are convinced that magic exists.
