Dashiwo
Dashiwo ( Chinese 大 石窝 镇 , Pinyin Dàshíwō Zhèn ) is a large municipality in the district of Fangshan (房山区) in the governmental city of Beijing , about 75 km southwest of Beijing on the border with Hebei Province . The Fangyi Highway (房 易 路) S318 (from Fangshan to Yi ) leads through the village.
Yunju Monastery
Its sights include the famous listed Buddhist Yunju Monastery ( 雲居寺 / 云居寺 , Yunju si ).
marble
Dashiwo is known for its marble . The famous stone block with the nine dragons behind the "Hall for the Preservation of Harmony" (Baohe dian) in the Forbidden City in Beijing comes from a quarry in Dashiwo, for example. (see main article Fangshan marble )
