Datanorm

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Datanorm ( spelling "DATANORM") is a file format for the data exchange of article master data between product suppliers , specialist wholesalers and craft businesses .

It is primarily used in the construction industry in the plumbing, heating, electrical, and painting and varnishing industries. The craftsman can use these files to import data (article and price catalogs) into his calculation program and store it in the master data. The data is structured and stored in a simple text file. DATANORM is published by the DATANORM working group.

history

  • 1986 Datanorm is published
  • 1990 Version 3 appears
  • 1994 Version 4 appears
  • 1999 the current version 5 comes on the market
  • 2009 the transmission of Datanorm data via web service is introduced

Data exchange procedure

The data exchange takes place via different media:

Downloading via a web service can currently be described as the most innovative method for data exchange of Datanorm files. An Internet portal bundles URL information from Datanorm catalogs offered on the Internet . Software manufacturers implement this information in their craftsman programs. Craftsmen can then import Datanorm data directly from their application software without having to deal with external data carriers or files.
