Dathus
Dathus (also: Datus ; † around 190) was an early bishop of Ravenna .
Dathus was probably the successor of Probus in the episcopate. Legend has it that a dove appeared over his head and chose him as the new bishop. His predecessor Apollinaris is said to have consecrated it. Dathus served for nine years. He then passed away in peace during the tenure of Pope Eleutherus and Emperor Commodus . He is venerated as a saint ; his feast day is July 3rd . Liberius is considered to be his successor in the episcopate.
